Dr. John Seul is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Encinitas, California, serving patients throughout North County and San Diego County. His combined dental, medical, public health, and surgical education enables him to diagnose and treat a broad range of conditions affecting the teeth, jaws, mouth, and facial structures.
Dr. Seul practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with experience in dental implant placement, wisdom teeth removal, tooth extractions, bone grafting, sinus lifts, oral pathology, IV sedation, and general anesthesia.
Education
Dr. Seul grew up in Southern California and graduated from Vista High School in 1985. He attended the University of California, Irvine, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in Biological Sciences and Psychology.
He subsequently earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He also earned a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University.
Oral Surgery Residency and Medical Degree
Dr. Seul completed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/MD Residency at Columbia University. During this dual-degree program, he received extensive hospital-based surgical training and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the institution now known as the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
His training in both dentistry and medicine prepared him to perform complex oral and maxillofacial procedures while considering each patient’s oral health, medical history, comfort, and overall well-being.
Board Certification and Professional Affiliations
Dr. Seul is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Board certification reflects the completion of rigorous education, training, and examination requirements in the specialty.
He is also a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and an active member of the following professional organizations:
